Assistant Program Director
Pearlstone Center is seeking an experienced and reliable Assistant Program Director to embrace and actualize Pearlstone’s mission to ignite Jewish passion through immersive and innovative programming, living Judaism, and Jewish farm-based and environmental education. The Assistant Program Director will be a senior member of Pearlstone’s Program Department, reporting to the Program Director, and will share responsibility for leading the Pearlstone program team through a dynamic program calendar, including immersive Jewish holiday retreats, summer camp, week-long Jewish day school programs, year-round youth groups, city school partnerships, field trips, and much more. The Assistant Program Director will lead programmatic administration, including but not limited to: overall program calendar management, coordination, registration, staffing, evaluation, invoicing, and financial management. He/she will also assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of programs.
The Assistant Program Director will manage the program calendar through a sophisticated reservation software and database system, and will serve as a critical bridge builder between the Program, Farm, and Retreat departments. She/he will be responsible for providing timely responses to questions and needs arising from hundreds of partner organizations and group leaders, clients, and thousands of participants of all ages and backgrounds. As a leadership position, the Assistant Program Director will help staff Pearlstone’s Program Committee and will contribute to strategic programmatic discussions. The Assistant Program Director will assist in coordinating the staffing of the various programs for the department, particularly in the high season of spring-summer, and will be available to step in and staff programs on an as needed basis.

Director of Facilities and Maintenance
Pearlstone Center seeks a candidate who will start as an Assistant Director and will learn from the current Director and ultimately succeed the current Director if all goes well. The Director position will be responsible for overseeing and implementing preventive maintenance and repairs of the facility, equipment, and the grounds of the Pearlstone Center Campus. S/He will assist with completing preventive maintenance schedules and repairs and will engage in hands on maintenance tasks, as well as supervision, budgeting, working with contractors and development of new facilities.
Strong preference for individuals with experience with, interest in, and/or enthusiasm for green building, energy efficiency, and sustainability in general. Pearlstone is a green retreat center and environmental education center, and our maintenance approach reflects those values.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in a multi-building facility a plus
- Knowledge and experience with facilities dedicated to environmental sustainability a plus
- Knowledge of construction principles and standards.

Pearlstone Center seeks a Full-Time Maintenance Associate. This employee is supervised by the Maintenance Director and is responsible for the preventive maintenance and repairs of the facility, equipment, and grounds of the Pearlstone Center. S/He will assist with completing preventive maintenance schedules and maintenance repair schedules and will engage in the scheduled tasks as required.
Qualified candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent with three years of experience in plant operations, construction, and/or repair work. The candidate should have knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electric and mechanical systems and knowledge of construction principles and standards. Candidate should be able to read building plans and schematic drawings. Candidate should have the ability to schedule, plan and complete repair and renovation projects. Candidate should have good oral and written communication skills, should be able to multi-task, and should be a team player.

The Pearlstone Center, located in Reisterstown, is seeking a part-time/on-call Facility Associate to assist in the day to day operations at the Center. The two main areas of this position include food service and overall care and appearance of the facility including: meeting rooms, common areas, dining areas, kitchen, lodging rooms, bathrooms, and storage areas.
Candidate will be called upon to participate in catering services including table setting, serving, light kitchen prep and clean-up. Responsibilities will also entail housekeeping duties that include, but are not limited to, sanitizing and restocking bathrooms, vacuuming, window cleaning, and making beds.
Candidate must be extremely organized, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional customer service is a must. All candidates must have reliable transportation as no public transportation is nearby Center.
This position does not include benefits. Work schedule is as need and flexible, but will not exceed eighteen hours per week. One year of similar work experience is helpful, but not required and willingness to learn about the kosher food service industry.
