JICC 2015: included Internationally Renowned Speakers, Diana Leafe Christian & Muki Tsur, and a host of other engaging speakers!
Diana Leafe Christian is an author, former editor of Communities magazine and a nationwide speaker and workshop presenter on starting new ecovillages, on building communities, and on sustainability. She lives in an off-grid homestead at Earthaven Ecovillage in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, USA. A 2007 quip of hers about what living in community is, is that “it is the longest, most expensive, personal growth workshop you will ever take.”
Muki Tsur is one of Israel’s most celebrated authors and historians. Muki is a leading expert on the first Aliya movements, the early settlement period in Israel, the labor movement and Kibbutz life. He is one of the initiators of the groundbreaking project “The Seventh Day” after the six-day war, and served as Secretary General of the Kibbutz Movement. He is a senior educator at BINA Center for Jewish Identity and Hebrew Culture and one of the founders of the Secular Yeshiva in Tel Aviv. Muki currently lives in Kibbutz Ein Gev on the Sea of Galilee.
Join us for the 3rd annual Jewish Intentional Communities Conference. We are excited to learn from and share with each other, vision together, and plant seeds for communities to come. Whether you’ve been a part of an intentional community, are a part of one now, want to start one, or just want to learn more, we welcome you to join the conversation!
This conference is a partnership between Pearlstone Center and Hazon. We share a vision that over the next 3-10 years, new Jewish intentional communities will bloom across the country – from urban kibbutzim to rural moshavim, suburban co-ops, and more – and that these dynamic and vibrant new Jewish communities will become inspiring catalysts in an ongoing renaissance in American Jewish life.
